GRIEF SUPPORT
WALKING THROUGH GRIEF
You are not alone. God is near to the brokenhearted.
If you're here because you've lost someone you love, we're so sorry. There are no words that can take away this pain, and we won't try to rush you through it.
Grief is not something to “get over.” It's something to walk through, one moment at a time, with God holding your hand even when you can't feel Him.
WORDS OF COMFORT
“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”
— Matthew 5:4
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”
— Psalm 147:3
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
— Psalm 30:5
“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life... shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
— Romans 8:38-39
UNDERSTANDING YOUR JOURNEY
Grief isn't linear. You may move through these in any order, revisit them, or experience several at once. All of it is normal.
Shock & Denial
Feeling numb or disbelief. This is your mind protecting you while you absorb the reality.
Remember: It's okay to not feel anything right now. God is holding you even when you can't feel Him.
Pain & Guilt
Deep sorrow, regrets, "if onlys." The weight feels unbearable.
Remember: Pour out your heart to God. He can handle every tear, every regret, every question.
Anger
Frustration at the situation, at others, at God, at yourself.
Remember: Your anger is valid. God is not threatened by your questions or your pain.
Depression & Loneliness
Deep sadness, isolation, feeling like no one understands.
Remember: Jesus wept. He knows sorrow intimately and sits with you in the darkness.
Acceptance & Hope
Learning to live with loss while holding onto hope.
Remember: Healing doesn't mean forgetting. It means carrying love forward into a new chapter.
GENTLE STEPS FORWARD
Give yourself permission
Permission to cry. Permission to laugh. Permission to feel nothing. Permission to take it one breath at a time.
Don't grieve alone
Let others in. A grief support group, a counselor, a trusted friend. You weren't meant to carry this alone.
Be patient with yourself
Grief has no timeline. Don't let anyone tell you when you should "be over it." Healing takes as long as it takes.
Keep talking to God
Even if you're angry. Even if you have no words. He understands sighs too deep for words.
WE'RE HERE FOR YOU
“He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces.”
ISAIAH 25:8
